About ALPHATEC® 442

Epoxy primer for wet surfaces

ALPHATEC® 442 is a robust epoxy-based formulation intended for anchoring, crack repair, and structural rehabilitation of heavy machinery foundations in challenging industrial environments.

Its balanced chemistry provides dependable mechanical performance, minimal shrinkage, and a practical working time—making it well-suited for projects requiring secure, long-lasting support.

It forms a good basis for the application of lining, flooring or patching mortar systems, particularly when surface preparation methods such as high-pressure water blasting are the only practical approach.

ALPHATEC® 442 is used in underwater repairs of jetties, piers and wharves, as well as in wet areas in industrial plants such as steel rolling mills.

Features

Rapid initial strength gain to reduce downtime
Maintains adhesion on slightly damp surfaces
Minimal shrinkage preserves alignment accuracy
Bonds effectively to steel, concrete, and various industrial substrates

ALPHATEC® 442 combines strength and straightforward application to meet industrial repair and reinforcement needs.

Packaging and Mixing

Pre-measured kits include resin, hardener, and a specialized filler. At room temperature, mixing resin and hardener takes about a minute at low speed before gradually adding the filler to control viscosity.

The pot life typically spans 30–50 minutes, with functional curing achieved within 24 hours.

For larger pours, follow recommended procedures to avoid excessive heat buildup, and always use appropriate PPE.
