About ALPHATEC® 440

Modified Epoxy Resin-Based Adhesive

ALPHATEC® 440 is a two-part epoxy adhesive designed to bond fresh concrete securely to existing structures. Its extended working time (up to two hours at 25 °C) and controlled flow characteristics allow precise application by brush, roller, or spray—even on vertical or overhead surfaces.

Once cured, it delivers high compressive and flexural strengths, forming a unified, long-lasting repair or extension.

Features

Strong chemical bond for monolithic concrete repairs
Good shear and compressive strength (approximately 84 MPa)
Minimal shrinkage for accurate structural alignment
Open time suitable for larger jobs (140–200 minutes at 25 °C)

ALPHATEC® 440 offers a dependable epoxy solution for seamless bonding between old and new concrete in construction and repair projects.

Packaging and Mixing

ALPHATEC® 440 is available in 3 L and 6 L pre-dosed kits, typically covering 20–30 m² at around 0.1 mm thickness (surface-dependent).

The resin and hardener mix in a 100:48 ratio by volume at low speed (under 500 rpm) for at least a minute—longer if temperatures are cold. This ensures thorough activation and reduces air entrapment.

The product is solvent-free, resulting in lower flammability risk and a consistent cure without noticeable shrinkage.
