About ALPHATEC® 400

Epoxy Resin-Based Protective Adhesive

ALPHATEC® 400 is a versatile epoxy resin system suited for bonding, protective coatings, and clear topcoats on stone, concrete, metals, and more.

It provides strong adhesion, aesthetic clarity, and minimal shrinkage, making it ideal for both decorative finishes and industrial protective layers. A UV-resistant variant is also available to prevent yellowing in outdoor applications.

Features

Multi-substrate compatibility (bonds reliably to stone, concrete, metals, and ceramics)
Long pot life (up to 140 minutes at 25 °C)
Low viscosity, easy mixing
Optional non-sag formulation

ALPHATEC® 400 ensures robust, transparent bonding and protective layers with high-strength results.

Packaging and Safety

Pre-measured kits are supplied at a 5:2 volumetric ratio of resin to hardener, yielding around 3.5 litres. Mix slowly for at least one minute to minimize air entrapment; in colder conditions, use a slower speed and slightly longer mix time to kickstart polymerisation.

If thickened with silica, note that transparency decreases and working time is reduced. The cured product exhibits negligible shrinkage and compressive strength around 84 MPa.
