GROUT AND RESIN APPLICATIONS

The role of grout and resin

Grout fills the gap between heavy machinery and its foundation, creating a stable, level surface. Resin solutions protect concrete from corrosive elements, seal cold joints, and help maintain the integrity of the foundation. Together, these materials extend both the lifespan of the machinery and its supporting infrastructure.

Skid and base plate installation

  • Skid Installation
By using ALPHATEC® 800 high-performance epoxy grout, we ensure a secure bond between skid-mounted equipment and the concrete foundation. This reduces stress-related cracks, vibration issues, and unwanted movement.

  • Base Plate Installation
Properly installed base plates prevent cold joints, eliminate stress risers, and stabilize machinery. This precision approach not only shortens setup time but also minimizes future repair needs.

Concrete foundation protection

Concrete surfaces are prone to damage from chemicals, temperature fluctuations, and mechanical stress. Our ALPHATEC® 628TC coating forms a protective barrier to guard against corrosive substances. By reducing chemical penetration and weakening, this protection preserves the foundation’s strength and reliability.

Chemical anchoring

Using specialised epoxy formulations, we bond anchors or bolts directly to the foundation—rather than relying on mechanical fasteners alone. This technique helps:

  • Withstand higher vibration levels

  • Distribute load evenly

  • Maintain alignment over the equipment’s service life

All solutions meet or exceed API RP 686, ACI, and GMRC standards to ensure optimal performance.

Cold joint sealing

Cold joints occur when fresh concrete is placed beside partly cured material, creating a potential weak spot. We utilize systems like ALPHATEC® 342 to seal and reinforce these joints, preventing cracks, leaks, and structural compromise. By keeping the foundation intact, we help maintain stable operation of your heavy machinery.
