ALPHATEC^® 170 is a two-component polymer grout system consisting of modified epoxy resin and chemical hardener. It is specially formulated for chock grouting to replace the steel packers and liners used under many different types of machinery.

ALPHATEC^® 170 can be used between steel surfaces, or between aggregate-filled epoxy grout and steel bases, in a sandwich approach, chocking main propulsion engines in marine applications, and for miscellaneous deck machinery and auxiliaries.

Packaging and Safety

ALPHATEC 170 is available in two-component, two litre sets. Each set is composed of liquid and hardener. Larger sets are available upon request but, since pot life is a function of mixed volume and ambient temperature, they should only be used for the largest pours, such as main propulsion engines of 10 MW or more where the total chock volume can easily be 300 or 400 litres.

All ALPHATEC products are intended for industrial use, and should be used only by experienced personnel with proper equipment & training. Always use proper protective clothing, including gloves, face masks or shields, and wash any exposed skin thoroughly after using the product.

Mixing and Handling

Pour the full amount of hardener into the liquid portion and mix thoroughly for at least one minute. Keep on stirring until the colour change (yellow to green) has become homogeneous. A non-aerating mixer (Jiffy mixer or equivalent) should always be used.
