ALPHATEC® 440 is a modified epoxy resin-based adhesive which is used to bond new concrete to old. It has a long pot life of at least two hours, which allows it to be applied well before the new concrete is poured. ALPHATEC 440 has a moderately high viscosity, and good wetting characteristics, which enable it to resist the scouring action of pump-placed (or gravity-placed) concrete.

Packaging and Safety
ALPHATEC® 440 is available in three litre or six litre sets. Three litres will cover an area of approximately 20 m2, depending on the surface roughness. Theoretically, three litres will cover 30 m2 of plain surface, with no roughness, to a depth of 100 microns.
All ALPHATEC products are intended for industrial use, and should be used only by experienced personnel with proper equipment & training. Always use proper protective clothing, including gloves, face masks or shields, and wash any exposed skin thoroughly after using the product.

Mixing and Handling
Pour hardener portion into the resin container, and mix thoroughly using a slow-speed (<500 rpm) mechanical mixer for at least one minute. Lower temperatures will require slower speeds, and more time to properly initiate the reaction process. Apply by brush, roller, or heavy duty spray equipment to a nominal thickness of 100 μm (0.1 mm). Use of a pole-gun equipped spray unit is often very effective in applying the material after the rebar matrix and formwork have already been fixed in place.

Always use proper protective clothing, including gloves, face masks or shields, and wash Any exposed skin thoroughly after using the product. ALPHATEC® 440 contains no solvents, so it has very little flammable hazard.
