ALPHATEC® 130 Epoxy Grout for High Temperature

ALPHATEC® 130 is a three-component polymer grout system consisting of modified epoxy resin, chemical hardener, and blended aggregate.

ALPHATEC® 130 is specially formulated for high temperature operating environments, and is widely used for

  • Steam and gas turbines
  • Blowers
  • Deep well pumps
  • Heat exchangers
  • Boilers
  • Steel mill equipment,
  • Other hot machinery

The normal maximum operating temperature for most machinery with an alignment accuracy measured in 0.1 mm increments is 150ºC, but the product will perform well up to 200ºC where maintenance of alignment to the mm is sufficient.

Features

Operating temperature to 150ºC
Ambient temperature curing
Minimal shrinkage on cure
Low thermal coefficient of expansion

Packaging and Safety

ALPHATEC® 130 is packed in set yielding 10 or 50 litres. The components are pre-measured, and should normally be mixed as a unit.

All ALPHATEC products are intended for industrial use, and should be used only by experienced personnel with proper equipment & training. Always use proper protective clothing, including gloves, face masks or shields, and wash any exposed skin thoroughly after using the product.

Mixing and Handling

Pour full amount of hardener into the pail containing the liquid, and mix for no more than 1 minute with an air or electric powered Jiffy mixer operated at low speed.

Pour the mixed resins into a suitable pail of 16 to 20 litre capacity, and add the aggregate portion slowly. Use the full amount of aggregate, unless an Alphatec trained supervisor recommends otherwise. Pour the mixed grout material into the forms without delay.
